Cute Animals Made of Felt
by Boost Inspiration · May 8, 2011
Felt is a non-woven cloth that is produced by matting, condensing and pressing woollen fibres. While some types of felt are very soft, some are tough enough to form construction materials. Felt can be of any colour, and made into any shape or size.
In past, we featured many cute animals pictures but today’s post is a bit different. Today we are showcasing pictures from a book. This book is a collection of little needle-felted cute animals in the cutest settings.
There are 21 projects, each with an adorable animal with its own scene, complete with tiny felted accessories. many of these are little shops, and the project directions include how to make the miniature goods by needle felting. the addition of tiny baked goods and fruits are quite a sweet touch, in addition the the wide variety of very very cute wee felt animals.
The projects are: deer sells picture books; raccoon in the laundry; monkey’s market; hedgehog’s tailor; sheep and kid in the wool shop; giraffe sells stationery; ermine’s sockes store; dog’s cake shop; white bear on the blanket; panda’s parent and child in the tea shop; squirrel’s jam shop; rabbit in the juice stand; adelie penguins’ ice cream shop, sea lion’s toy shop; welsh corgi, labrador retriever, miniature dachshund’s instrument shop; cat in the music shop; cat and squirrel’s bakery; little bird’s messenger; eastern europe girl’s florist; teddy bear’s photographer; and rabbit’s wedding salon.
While the project titles are in English, all the written instructions are all in Japanese. however, the photos and clear diagrams for each project give a lot of information about how to make each project, including the dimensions and shapes for each part, views from different angles, and how to create the details. some but not all of the projects include a wire armature, and there is a very useful step by step series of photographs explaining the basic process for this. for complete newcomers to needle felting, you might want to have a look at some simple instructions for basic needle felting in English online before doing these projects.
